Attendees at Founder's Day Brunch 2009. This year's brunch will feature
a salute to Excelsorians who have made outstanding contributions in the
field of medicine
Founder’s Day Brunch, Sunday, January 17, 2010, will this year feature a salute to Excelsior past students who have made outstanding contributions to Jamaica in the field of medicine.
To be held in Powell Hall (the school auditorium), under the theme “Celebrating Outstanding Contribution to Medicine", the Excelsior Past Student Association-hosted brunch will help mark the school’s 79th anniversary. Founder's Day will be officially observed with an extended school assembly on the actual anniversary date, Tuesday, January, 19, 2010.
The brunch will be preceded by a Praise and Worship service scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. With the solemnity of the service out of the way, the commemoration will then take a decidedly more light hearted turn with a gaggle of entertainment acts and other highlights.
Part fund-raiser, part membership drive, the brunch will be part of a special appeal to join the PSA and help to “bring back the Excelsior High as we knew it to be: Excellence, Class and Commitment as a leader in the field of Education” according to a Release.
The Excelsior Past Students Association is imploring individuals to become a part of the Past Present and the Future by becoming members, at a cost of $1000.00 per year, and to patronize the brunch at a cost of J$1,500.00 per ticket.
Funds raised from the brunch this year will go towards the refurbishing of the BIOLOGY LAB. Donations or Pledges towards this project, whether in cash or kind, will be greatly appreciated. |
