"The gift of a million dollars from the Excelsior Alumni Association (USA) Inc. is another fantastic gesture that is indicative of the tremendous support that Excelsior High School receives from our past students”, Principal Bromfield said in thanking the organization, “I want to say thank you on behalf of the students, staff and Committee of Management".
A commitment first made during the school’s 75th anniversary celebration, when the project was first announced, finally came to fruition during the school’s Jamaica Day celebration of excellence. The day also featured some performances and a presentation and display mounted by the Jamaica National Heritage Trust.
The latest donation of one million dollars (more than US$11,000.00) caps the Excelsior Alumni Association’s year-long 40th anniversary commemorations, during which it continued its decades-old record of stellar and uninterrupted support for the Alma Mater. |
